The Artist.

I grew up in Chester, and was a child who was always making things.

My grandma was a very talented painter, and one of my most fond memories is having a tutorial from her, in a very grown-up formal fashion at probably just 7 years old, of how to paint a red squirrel in gouache. I did well until the finishing touch of whiskers …. and applied them far too heavily, ruining my “masterpiece”!

After school and A levels, I completed an Art and Design Foundation Degree in Oxford before my Bachelors Degree of Fine Art at Lancaster University.

In 2016, I began my journey developing the “recipe” for the artworks that I create today - spending days experimenting on beaches, alongside estuaries and up mountains until I found a process which felt expressive of my aim.

My passion for environmental wellbeing began to merge into the artwork I was drawn to create.

After spending the first 5 years of my career working as an Interior Designer in Cumbria - with limited time to create artworks - I knew that I had to make a change and focus on what made my heart sing even more than designing homes.
