As winter’s grip started to loosen and the early signs of spring have been making their way into The Lake District, I’m feeling energized and inspired by the changing scenery. March has always been a time for new beginnings, and it feels like the perfect moment to reflect on recent work and share some exciting updates with you.
Studio Case Study: Creating "Loughrigg Larch"
At the end of 2024, I was working on a commissioned artwork titled Loughrigg Larch. It’s been a pleasure to create something so unique to both the space it’s destined for and the surrounding environment. The artwork incorporated rich greens and soft, muted pinks - carefully chosen to complement the client’s room. I always love collaborating on commissioned pieces and diving deep into the color palettes I design to ensure each work feels personal and perfectly suited to its new home.
Below are some progress photos from the studio, showing the different stages of this piece. From early primers to the final layers of paint, it was a rewarding journey. I also had the opportunity to photograph the artwork outdoors in the breathtaking landscape of the Lake District (Ullswater), where the colors truly come to life against the natural backdrop.

News: A Gallery Debut & First Sale
In February, I joined the wonderful Pole Star Gallery in Keswick, Cumbria. It’s been such an exciting start to the chapter of exhibiting with them, and I’m thrilled to announce that my first sale at the gallery was of Silent Seasons - artwork just 9 days after it was installed. It feels amazing to see my work being embraced in such a creative gallery space in the heart of the Lake District. I’ve included a photo of Silent Seasons below. Be sure to pop by if you are ever visiting the area!

Planning Ahead: March Inspirations & Creative Reflections
As the landscape begins to shift and the first signs of green poke through the earth, I’m already gathering inspiration for upcoming art commissions that I will soon be starting. The changing colors of the Lake District as we transition into spring never fail to spark new ideas, and I’m excited to experiment with some fresh themes and techniques.
