January 2025, newsletter.
A scenic morning hike to Helvellyn, in “real feel" -13 degrees celsius, to gather data for a commissioned artwork
Hello there,
As the memory of Christmas fades and the festive overindulgences subside, I am approaching this New Year with fresh energy and ideas for how to make 2025 the best year yet! Starting with a monthly newsletter, I’ll be keeping you updated on what I've been working on, what's inspiring me and news from the art world, nature world, and of course The Lake District.
A word of thanks
I wanted to start by saying a big thank you to all of my clients, as well as those who supported me in 2024 in the many other forms that can take. It was an absolutely fantastic year. Not only did I create more artworks than ever before, but I also hit a few milestones along the way: biggest artwork to date commissioned (currently a work in-progress!), and largest number of artworks bought at once (by Imperial College London). The whole year was filled with “pinch me moments” amongst all the hard work and I am so very grateful for it all. It was a pleasure to collaborate with, and meet such lovely and interesting people.
New website launch
In the second half of last year, I launched my new website. I'm really proud of the final product and I hope you'll agree it offers an enhanced user experience and more information about myself and my approach. Any feedback is welcomed and I'd love to know what you think if you’ve had time for a little browse!
Sophie Tea Residency
In the early makings of 2024 I was delighted to be selected for a residency with Sophie Tea Art. If you're not familiar with her work, Sophie Tea is a British-Australian artist, whose Nudes collection gained her a huge following, helped by her fun-filled social media presence. At the time, Tea was based in Sydney, Australia but a relocation to London (her gallery can be found on Carnaby Street if you are local or visiting!) has meant that the residency has been postponed and will take place in London in 2025.
When it goes ahead, I'll be based in Tea's studio for 2 weeks, along with 4 other artists from around the world who were selected for the residency. I will be making new artwork from her London studio and I can’t wait to see how the different environment and equipment reflects in my work!
Worth a watch
Here is my 2024 recap - there was too much to capture but if you fancy seeing some special snippets you can view it here on my Tik Tok, or by looking at my recent posts on my Instagram Page
That’s it for January, I hope you’ve enjoyed my first newsletter. I would love to hear what elements you’d like to hear more about in future updates.
Best wishes to you, and here is to a wonderful 2025!
